Thoughts on American Idol season 10 top 8

Steven Tyler finds ways to creep some people out every week on american idol.

Paul McDonald sang first, a female sax player joined her but his performance was not great. Paul is known for his eccentricities on stage and his megawatt smile, read a Paul McDonald bio for fun facts about him.

While many find themselves wondering how America kept Stefano over Pia, we will never know the answer to that. I have to admit that I do not mind listening to him or watching him sing.

will.I.am is back again, maybe he signed a contract with American Idol this year.

Casey Abrams was trying to say true to his bada$$ness by going against the advice he receive, will that finally cost him his spot in the competition, we will know tonight.

Jennifer Lopez Doesn't Want Any More Girls to Go Home! What is she going to do about it?

There seems to be a glitch in the lines some people calling for contestant #7 heard the machine saying "thanks for voting for #8" apparently the same thing happened with Karen and she was eliminated. Hopefully it's only the recording that was off and the votes actually went to the right contestant.

James Durbin is an idol for many Americans suffering from Tourette's. This year a lot of people are voting online using their Facebook account which probably will make sites such as dialidol less accurate. Durbin's die hard fans find him more authentic than Adam Lambert. I have read about how some thought that having Zakk Wylde play with him when he sang Heavy Metal gave him an advantage over the other contestants. I'm not sure that is the case but you never know. James convinced many people to vote for the first time to keep him in the competition. James Durbin receive the last singing spot also known as the Pimp spot some say it's because the higher powers at Idol want him to win.

A lot of AI pundits have been saying that more contestants from this season l will have successful music careers than from any other season.

Some viewers regarded Jimmy Iovine's telling Lauren Alaina that she can sing better than Miley Cyrus as meaning that Jimmy I thinks Miley can't sing. The truth of the matter is, Miley is more successful than any of those American Idol contestants will ever be. I guess being a successful pop star is not just about your singing ability, even on a show like American Idol that is not enough to win.

I have heard from an American Idol fans who is also country music that Scotty McCreery from American Idol is like a male version of Taylor Swift and consistently delivers great performances night after night. Scotty fans have even said that they think he is better than George Straight, will he be as successful as him? Time will tell.

Haley Reinhart sang "Call Me" by Blondie. She delivered stunning vocals and what her fans see as the best performance of the night. Steven Tyler told Haley Reinhart "You sang it heavy, you sang it great. I LOVE that thing you got on is gorgeous too".

The home audience has already reached the point of boredom with the competitions performances. The problem is that they spent 7 days anticipating the performances to come only to be let down by their favorite contestants and since each contestant is still singing one song per night they have to wait for the next week to redeem themselves and try to win their fans back provided they survive to sing another week.

Casey Abrams sang "Nature Boy"which his fans thought was really good.I personally think that Casey is very likely to be sent home tonight.

In spite of the judges' praise many felt that Jacob Lusk did not go a good job on his song because, Clay Aiken sang it better, maybe all those people are Claymates?

Overall the common reaction to last night's show was a positive one, let's just hope that tonight's result show will be just as good in spite of the cheesy ford commercials...

Bob's Burgers' renewed for a second season

Fox has decided to renew Bob's Burgers which will air for at least one more season. This mid-season comedy airs on Sunday night on the network.

Bobs Burgers Fox

The show has been considered to be on the bubble as it was not clear based on its ratings whether Fox would renew it or not. On average ratings were 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic. About 4.7 million viewers tuned in every Sunday night to watch the rookie animation show on Fox.

Bobs burgers renewed

All other animations shows on Fox had already been renewed.

I am not a fan of animated series on Fox but I do understand the appeal.

Pia Toscano Eliminated in An Emotional American Idol April 7th, 2011 Results Show

After the April 7th, 2011 American Idol results show, there will be only eight contestants left to battle it out to the very sweet end. Let’s face it; if you got this far on American Idol, you are destined for success, fame and glory. So who gets to leave a little early? Surprisingly, Pia Toscano was voted out. You can find out more about her by reading this Pia Toscano bio. The show started with the usual cameo. Clips of the contestant's competition concerns were shown and then the judges pranced onto the stage and took their seats. Ryan Seacrest followed. The crowd stood up for the judges and host. Ryan begins the show by announcing that the results may be surprising.

The audience was told that Constantine James Maroulis would be the guest alumni for tonight's show and Iggy Pop would be the guest star. The top 9 contestants quickly took the stage and performed a Rock Medley. The ladies kicked it off with “I Love Rock and Roll” by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. Then men then took over and sang the Lynyrd Skynyrd hit song “Sweet Home Alabama.”

The show broke away to a 2012 Ford Focus commercial featuring the contestants. It was well done. Next comedian Russell Edward Brand walked gawkily down the steps to give the remaining contestants some performing advice. Russell stars in the new “Authur” movie. Mr. Brand suggested that the contestants “limber-up” when performing. He said not to fear the judges and had some of the contestants sit in the judge's chairs. And before leaving, Russell said to the contestants, “Take your clothes off and don't take things too seriously!”
OK, then Ryan Seacrest brought Casey Abrams, Lauren Alaina and Stefano Langone to center stage to announce the first American Idol contestant to be in the bottom three. After discussing their April 6th, 2011 performances Ryan Seacrest announced that Stefano Langone was in the bottom three.

After a commercial break, season four alumni Constantine Maroulis takes the stage as returning guest alumni and performs “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers. Some of his notes seemed a little off but overall the performance was strong with a gritty guitar background. Constantine cooled it down to end the song well. Before leaving the stage he announced that he was touring with “The Rock of Ages” and recently became the father of a newborn daughter.

Next, clips of Gwen Stefani dressing the female contestants were shown. She was happy to help the contestants and couldn't wait to see them perform in the attire she helped to pick.

Paul McDonald, Scotty McCreery and Pia Toscano come to the stage and Ryan Seacrest discussed their recent performances. Then Ryan announces that Scotty and Paul are “Safe” but Pia Toscano has dropped into the bottom three.

Next, Harvey Levin and the crew of the syndicated, entertainment and gossip news show “TMZ” give the American Idol contestants some media relations advice. Some of the suggestions were “do not get arrested, strike a pose for the cameras, watch your lipstick, update your Twitter page, don't fall down on camera and hire a lawyer.” It was very good advice.

Then James Durbin, Haley Reinhart and Jacob Lusk took the stage to find out that Jacob Lusk was the final member of the current bottom three. Guest performer Iggy Pop sang “Real Wild Child”, shirtless… And then the shocking announcement was made.

Out of the bottom three, Pia Toscano was voted off the show. The audience, the judges and the contestants as well were stunned. She sang “I'll Stand by You” as her final song and everyone cried.

Those fond of conspiracy theories are saying that Pia's elimination is all AT&T's fault.
